NBA, Paul Millsap retires: 4 times NBA All-Star and 5 franchises in his career

Through ESPN, Paul Millsap has officially announced his retirement from playing basketball. The big man entered the NBA in the 2006 draft with the 47th pick. Yet his career says 16 seasons in the US League, 4 times called up to the All-Star Game. He played for five franchises: Utah Jazz, Atlanta Hawks, Denver Nuggets, Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers. His last experience of the 2021/22 season was between the Nets and Sixers. Millsap is one of eight players in NBA history to reach 500 3-pointers, 1,000 blocks and 1,000 steals in a career, according to ESPN. Also together with Draymond Green he is the only player to have recorded 300 triples and 300 blocks between 2013 and 2017.

His best stint was with the Atlanta Hawks. From 2013 to 2017 he was a four-time All-Star, averaging 17.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. With the Hawks he reached the Eastern Conference finals in 2015. He also reached them with the Denver Nuggets in 2020. Millsap had career averages of 13.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 1,085 games regular season. He played in 130 more postseason games, averaging 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds.
