Igor Dobrovolski, Soviet soccer star and Olympic medalist, arrived in Castellón in 1990 after facing difficulties in Italy. During his time at the club, he showed flashes of his talent with three goals in fourteen games, but was unable to avoid relegation to the Second Division. His time in Castellón was marked by ups and downs, including a traffic accident from which he emerged unharmed. Despite this, he maintained his place in the Soviet team, continuing his international career.
