Guadeloupe. Tennis: Jean-Philippe Danican elected president of the League

Appointment of the new Bureau and the Steering Committee of the Tennis League of Guadeloupe Saint-Martin Saint-Barth.

During the elective General Assembly of the Tennis League of Guadeloupe, Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy which was held on Sunday November 10, 2024 at Creps Antilles-Guyane, the list “Committed to our clubs”, led by Jean- Philippe Danican, obtained the majority of votes from club representatives from Guadeloupe, Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy.

Jean-Philippe Danican received 70 votes while the “United for our federation” list led by Jean-Marie Christon obtained 55 votes. Jean-Philippe Danican was therefore elected, for four years, to the presidency of the Tennis League of Guadeloupe, Saint-Martin and
Saint-Barthélemy.

Following the election of the “Committed to our clubs” list, the new president Jean-Philippe Danican brought together the Steering Committee to elect its composition.

The Steering Committee is made up of twenty-five members elected by the elective General Assembly of the League. The list of Jean-Philippe Danican obtained 20 seats while the list of Jean-Marie Christon collected 5.

This new team, in accordance with the provisions of the internal regulations and the federal charter of the French Tennis Federation (FFT), will have the mission of continuing the development of the practice of racket sports on our territory, of supporting the clubs, and to promote the values ​​of ethics, respect and sporting excellence which underpin these disciplines.

The Steering Committee, in close collaboration with the Office, will be keen to implement
implement ambitious projects aimed at:
. Develop tennis, padel, beach tennis and pickleball at all levels (initiation, competition, high level),
. Strengthen the infrastructure and resources of affiliated clubs,
. Support young local talents and encourage their progress on the national and international scene,
. Strengthen the training of volunteers, educators, referees, and club presidents,
. Promote access to racquet sports for all audiences, in a spirit of diversity and inclusion.
