Clark was selected first in the 2024 draft by the Indiana Fever and immediately caused a sensation in her first year. She set various records, including most assists in a game (19) and a season (337), and created a real hype around women’s basketball in the USA.
At the end of the season she was elected to the All-WNBA Rookie Team, just like the German Leonie Fiebich.
WNBA: „Historic“ Caitlin Clark
Even before her time in the WNBA, she had created a huge amount of hype about herself in college. Their games were watched by several million people in the USA. For the first time, more spectators saw the women’s college final than the men’s.

In the WNBA, too, the number of viewers both in front of the television and in the halls increased massively. In some cases, games had to be moved to larger arenas to accommodate all fans.
Clark describes himself as “historical” in an interview with the TIME himself and doesn’t see himself at the end yet: “Personally, I’m just scratching the surface of what I can do and hope that I can change the world and influence people.”
With the award for Athlete of the Year in the legendary Time Magazine, she has definitely reached the next milestone in her young career.
