The fourth stage, as well as the final stage, of the Maremma Trophy for the pre-competitive classes will take place in Albinia. Seven very young people from Cus Siena Judo participated in the competition, divided into the Children’s and Boys’ categories. The first category to take to the tatami was that of the Boys, which saw Lara Bossini and Samuel Calero triumph and win the gold medal, winning both matches for Ippon. Matteo Gabbriellini, Riccardo Sestini and Niccolò Losi came in second place and played an excellent race, demonstrating excellent technical qualities. In the Children’s category Alessandro Brutti won gold by winning two matches and Rafael Khanbekyan won the silver medal with an excellent race. This fourth and final phase of the Maremma Trophy also awarded the general classification prizes, adding all the athletes’ scores in the four tests. Raising the Sienese colors high was Riccardo Sestini, third in the 2024 general ranking in the Dark Belt Boys category (from green belt to brown belt) thanks to the three golds and one silver won during the year. If Sestini confirms his excellent technical qualities, compliments must be extended to the entire group of pre-competitors with whom he trains daily. At the end of the competition, the general ranking by club was also drawn up, which saw Cus Siena Judo ranked in tenth place, an excellent placement given the relatively small numbers of Cussini boys compared to other realities. This is how the 2024 sports season ended for the entire group of pre-competitors, a season that saw a shower of medals and excellent growth on the part of all the athletes which bodes well for next year. The support of Daniele Gabbriellini and Daniel Khanbekyan was important.
