The Plumes Alréennes tournament takes place this weekend in Auray. This will be the sixteenth edition of the event which will be held at the Verger gymnasium. 268 badists are expected over the two days. Some adjustments have been made compared to last year, particularly concerning the mixed tables. “They started in the morning. We’ve had some surprised feedback from players because it’s not really the usual thing. This time, they will start in the early afternoon. We are happy with the set. There are quite a few N1s coming. We have balanced series in terms of quantity” explains Malaury Niquel, the new president of the club with 170 members.
Leutier favorite among men
Winners in 2023, the Bretillians Thibaut Kosior and Zélie Deléon (Saint-Jacques) are coming to put their mixed title up for grabs. Facing them, several pairs seem capable of competing, notably the Finistériens Maxime Naour and Marie Ferellec, and another duo from Saint-Jacques: Simon Degrés-Lucy Clotault. The latter can also aim for the doubles title with Louane Turpin.
For the men, Eliott Leutier (BC Kemperle), Nathan Danes (OC Gif), Fabien Sauve (Rec Badminton) and Lucas Cordelier (FIB) will fight to reach the final. Note the presence of Morbihannaise Jeanne Leroux (FV Kervignac) both in singles and doubles with her club partner Georgia Stierle Davies.
