The Castelmoron-sur-Lot Judo Club began its season by organizing a three-day course at the end of August, which brought together around forty young people from several clubs (Castelmoron, Damazan, Port-Sainte-Marie, La Réole, Auros, Saint-Macaire and Marmande). They benefited from an idyllic setting, namely the Base du Temple-sur-Lot, to practice judo, canoeing, swimming… on the banks of the Lot.
Every first Friday of the month, sectoral departmental training is also offered at the Base. Since October, the young people have started their journey of preparatory tournaments for the championships, which start this month of December.
During the Tonneins tournament, on November 24, pre-chicks, chicks and benjamins climbed onto the podium. Among the juniors, Max Gaïa, who finished 3e at the regional tournaments of Eysines and Limoges, and 1is at the regional tournament in Dax, was selected by the Department to be part of the Elite Aquitaine group and participate in the national tournament in Toulouse. He has just started the qualifying phase.
The club’s judokas also participated, sometimes shining, in the national Label A tournament in Bressuire, the European excellence tournaments in Clermont-Ferrand and Limoges, the Label B tournament in Coulouniex-Chamier and the colored belt tournament in Dax.
A start to the year which bodes well for a great harvest of medals for the season.
