Sánchez announces that he will address debt forgiveness and new regional funding from January

MadridThe autonomous communities chaired by the PP, which are the majority, have arrived at the Santander presidents’ conference with skepticism and expressing that they have few expectations. However, Pedro Sánchez moved them to the work session that started at 11 a.m. with the desire to unblock some entangled issues, such as the distribution of immigrant minors, and to open the thorny debate on regional funding. Sources from the Spanish government report that the head of the Spanish executive has announced the convening of a fiscal and financial policy council in January to “encourage the assumption by the State of part of the indebtedness of the communities of the common regime”. This is the forum where the people claim to address the changes in the financing system of the autonomies. In an intervention behind closed doors, Sánchez defends that it is necessary to “agree on them all” reconciling “multilaterality and bilaterality”.
