The Miami Dolphins and three-time Pro Bowler Odell Beckham Jr. are now going their separate ways. Like Tom Pelissero from NFL Network announced on Instagram, the separation was by mutual consent.

The wide receiver, also known by his nickname “OBJ,” has only been playing for two-time Super Bowl champions South Florida since May. There he signed a one-year contract worth 3 million dollars, which could have brought up to 8.25 million euros after bonuses. However, “OBJ” missed the start of the season after knee surgery and only made his debut in week five against the New England Patriots.
Too high expectations for former champion
He then had just 55 receiving yards on nine catches in nine games and went without a touchdown. Not enough for the Dolphins’ high standards. In his best season in 2015, he caught 13 balls in the end zone and achieved over 1,400 receiving yards.
Beckham Jr. was selected 12th in the draft a year earlier by the New York Giants, where he experienced his best years. With the team from the “Big Apple” he made perhaps the best catch in NFL history.
