Condemned for prevarication and favorite to be elected the new president of the Spanish Football Federation (FEF) on Monday, Rafael Louzán extended his hand this Friday to the Government, which will denounce the Galician leader before the Sports Administrative Court (TAD) in the case of that he wins the elections and his judicial ruling is ratified in February by the Supreme Court. «If they elect me, the first thing I am going to do is go to the Government and put myself at their disposal. “You will have an ally in me to work together for the good of football,” said the Galician candidate during the presentation of his program, convinced that the Supreme Court’s resolution will be favorable to him.

“I have a blind faith in acquittal and I am really very calm in the face of a twelve-year-old procedure,” said Louzán, who was sentenced in 2022 by the Provincial Court of Pontevedra to seven years of disqualification from holding public office for granting a company a subsidy of 86,311 euros for works on the Moraña football field. “The appeal has been admitted for processing and that is a filter that very few pass,” Louzán stressed.

Rafael Louzán was very critical of his main rival, the Valencian Salvador Gomar, of whom he said that “he wants the Luis Rubiales model” and recalled that “curiously, he has obtained almost half of his endorsements (11 of his 25 supports) from the Andalusian Federation. And he denied a transcendental pact with Miguel Galán, the president of the Cenafe coaching school, the scourge of Ángel Villar, Rubiales and Pedro Rocha, not to contest his candidacy in exchange for granting the UEFA license to 22,000 technicians. The consensus candidate among the barons of the FEF also denied a joint strategy with Sergio Merchán so that the Extremaduran, Dauphin de Rocha, also competes in the elections. “There is absolutely nothing,” he concluded.
