Michael Schumacher has to swallow terrible news and with him all his fans and Ferrari and Formula 1 enthusiasts
The German champion marked an era in Motorsport, rewriting the record books and still holding today, together with Lewis Hamiltonthe record of seven world titles won. Yet it does not appear in a special ranking.
Michael Schumacher it cannot be left out in any Motorsport ranking you want to achieve, both for numbers obtained on the track and for the level of driving and talent expressed. His was not simple value as an end in itself but an almost inhuman application, like a cold calculating machine. With Ferrari he also took on a completely different level of popularity, with a humanity that few recognized in him. From there his image underwent a significant surge, with a different sympathy in the eyes of the fans.
Yet, despite this, Schumacher does not appear in yet another ranking drawn up to establish who the 50 best male athletes and sportsmen of all time. Establishing who the GOAT (greatest of all time) is is not easy even within the same discipline, let alone overall. On X/Twitter, Time Capsule Tales wanted to share a perhaps questionable ranking.
There is no Schumacher in the ranking of the best 50 athletes of all time: Michael Jordan leads the ranking
In an expanded maxi ranking of 50 nomi mythological characters from world sport are united, such as Muhammad Ali, Usain Bolt, Serena Williams, Cristiano Ronaldo e Tiger Woods. Then there are multidisciplinary phenomena such as Bo Jackson (football americano e baseball) e Jim Thorpewhich even added two Olympic medals in athletics to the two queen disciplines of American sports.
In this special ranking, much discussed among fans, the podium is made up of Wayne Gretzkymember par excellence of the Ice Hockey Hall of Fame, Muhammad Ali, the most famous boxer of all time and Michael Jordan, basketball itself. MJ was judged the best ever, due to a series of physical and technical factors, which made him perhaps the athlete with the greatest impact in his discipline.
What stands out is the lack of Schumacher in the group 50 best, partially justified by the fact that pilots and cyclists were not rewarded, because they were struggling with a vehicle and not just with their own physical abilities. Many fans frowned.
