The two Zurich players did honor to the Swiss colors in this tournament which deplored the last minute withdrawal of Belinda Bencic. Viktorija Golubic qualified thanks to her success against Nuria Parrizas Diaz (WTA 100). The Spaniard retired while trailing 7-6 (7/2) 1-0.
