Luka Doncic led the Dallas Mavericks to a 143-133 victory over the Golden State Warriors with a triple-double and a season-high 45 points. Klay Thompson had a strong performance for the Mavs with seven three-pointers and 29 points.
The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Golden State Warriors 143-133 in an offensive slugfest. Luka Doncic excelled with a triple-double of 45 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds – his season-high in points and the 80th triple-double of his career. The Mavericks laid the foundation for success with an impressive start, hitting 14 of their first 19 shots and pulling away early 39-18.
Klay Thompson, who moved to the Mavericks in the summer, showed one of his best performances of the season with seven three-pointers and 29 points. The Warriors held out with Stephen Curry (26 points, 10 assists) and Draymond Green (21 points, five three-pointers), but they couldn’t find a solution defensively against the Mavericks. Doncic was almost unstoppable, especially in the first half, and had already scored 28 points by the break.
NBA: Doncic and Mavs unstoppable offensively
A key moment occurred at the end of the third quarter: Lindy Waters III forced a steal, and Curry served Jonathan Kuminga for a spectacular dunk that cut the deficit to seven points. But the Mavericks prevailed in the final quarter as the Warriors were unable to force any decisive stops defensively.
Doncic showed exceptional efficiency with 16 of 23 hits from the field. The Mavericks also impressed with a unified team performance and ultimately decided the game thanks to their offensive rhythm.
NBA: The next games for the Mavericks and Warriors
The Mavericks continue at home against the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday, while the Warriors meet the Grizzlies in Memphis – probably with new addition Dennis Schröder, who will strengthen the team.
