Glasgow Celtic won the first title of the Scottish season by winning the League Cup this Sunday, beating their historic neighbor and rival, Glasgow Rangers, in a penalty shootout (5-4 after a 3-3 draw).
The Rangers led at halftime 1-0, but in the second half the game went crazy, including the final minutes.
There Nicolas Kühn put Celtic ahead 3-2 in the 87th minute, but the Rangers prolonged the suspense by equalizing a minute later, in the 88th minute, through Brazilian Danilo.
In the penalty shootout, fortune smiled on Celtic, who succeed the Rangers in this tournament’s record.
Celtic manager, Northern Irishman Brendan Rodgers, has now won sixteen of the twenty derbies played in the most iconic match in Scottish football.
