Juventus reached the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia on Tuesday evening without any problems. At home, the club from Turin was too strong for Cagliari 4-0. Teun Koopmeiners scored the second goal with a beautiful free kick.

Koopmeiners started in the starting line-up for the Juventus side, just like former Ajax player Francisco Conceição. Also on the Cagliari side there was a starting place for a player with a past in Amsterdam: Razvan Marin.

Juventus was largely the dominant party, but it took a while before the first goal was scored. It was only just before half time that it was Dusan Vlahovic who put the 1-0 on the board, by shooting from the turn and via the inside of the post.

The best goal of the game came just after halftime. Koopmeiners aimed for a free kick from about 25 meters and shot the ball beautifully into the corner: 2-0.

It was the midfielder’s second goal of the season for Juventus. Koopmeiners made his first ten days ago, against Bologna (2-2) in Serie A.

Ten minutes before the end, Conceição decided the game definitively. The Portuguese turned from the right to his left leg and shot the ball into the far corner: 3-0.

Substitute Nicolás González provided the dessert just before the end, by hitting the ball over goalkeeper Simone Scuffet after a nice rush from his own half: 4-0. Juventus thus joins Bologna, AC Milan, Empoli and Lazio, who previously qualified for the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia.
