Superstition? No. The cause of the Bucks’ lack of celebrations is another
After the “historic” Emirates NBA Cup victory against the Thunder, Giannis Antetokounmpo he shared his emotions and thoughts on the missed celebration at a press conference. “The Greek Freak” dominated the last chapter in the tournament, with 28 points, 10 assists and 10/19 from the field against the best defense in the NBA. He won the MVP and lifted the trophy, but did not open the champagne handed out to the winners.
I don’t drink. The last time I drank some champagne, when we won the title, I had a cramp all over my body, so I tried to avoid it. I don’t know who is superstitious. For the guys celebrating, it’s because we never know if we’ll be at this level again. There will definitely be some form of celebration. I don’t know what it will be. Some kids will probably go to dinner together, others will spend time with family. But there has to be something, there has to be. This was an incredible six day trip; everyone was focused.
