BC Phönix Hövelhof 1 – BC Herringen 1 7:1
The BC Phönix Hövelhof first team continued their winning streak last Saturday at the end of the second half of the season with a clear 7-1 win against BC Herringen 1. After the three doubles, the home team was already leading 3-0, with all games being decided in two sets. In the men’s singles, Niklas Kampeier won the first singles without a fight, while Theo Steinwart scored another point in two sets in the second singles. In the third singles, Sriteja Kummita lost just after three sets. In the women’s singles, Luca Graupner fought back after initial difficulties and won the third set 21:11. Hannah Schiwon and Sven Falkenrich brought the final point in the mixed doubles with a clear two-set win that sealed the final score of 7:1.
Spvgg. Sterkrade-Nord 2 – BC Phönix Hövelhof 2 8:0
Last Saturday, BC Phönix Hövelhof II traveled to Sterkrade for the last game of the year and received support from two substitute players.
Right at the start of the game, all three doubles teams had to admit defeat in two sets. The Hövelhofers also had relatively little chance in the individual matches and were unable to score any points. In the mixed doubles, Marvin Barther and Katharina Uthenwoldt fought for the honorary point, but here too they ultimately lost in the deciding set with 11:21, 21:18 and 16:21, which meant that this game ended with a sobering 0:8 for the Hövelhofers.
TuS Eintracht Bielefeld 1 – BC Phönix Hövelhof 3 7:1
Last Saturday BC Phönix Hövelhof 3 met TuS Ein. Bielefeld 1. In the first men’s doubles, MickenbeckerMügge started the game well, but lost 20:22 and 21:16. The second men’s doubles Brameyer/Goos and the women’s doubles Vogt/Paschen were also at eye level, both doubles had to admit defeat in three sets in competitive games.
The men’s singles were just as competitive as the doubles. Goos and Mickenbecker didn’t have the strength to win in the last set, only Brameyer managed to win and thus the first point for Hövelhof. The women’s singles (Paschen and mixed (MüggeVogt) each lost in two sets.
The bitter final score of 1:7 after 6 hard-fought three-set games puts the team in second-to-last place in the table. The table is still very tight, so the team remains confident that they will be higher in the second half of the season.
BC Ajax Bielefeld 1 – BC Phönix Hövelhof 4 7:1
In the game against BC Ajax Bielefeld 1, BC Phönix Hövelhof 4 had to clearly admit defeat with 1:7. The first men’s doubles went to Bielefeld in two sets, while the second men’s doubles also went to the hosts after a competitive three-set game. In the women’s doubles, the Hövelhofer women had fewer chances and lost in two sets. In the men’s singles, Bielefeld showed its strength and won all games, with Alexander Franzke winning in the thirdtten singles was able to get a hard-fought victory for Hövelhof in two sets. The women’s singles again went to Bielefeld in two sets. In the final mixed doubles, Hövelhof held up well, but had to admit defeat after three sets. Despite the defeat, Hövelhof showed fighting spirit and gained valuable experience from the game.
