Sant’Antimo, ambush with baseball bats and gun: six women arrested

A brutal punitive expedition, which took place in Sant’Antimo, in the Neapolitan area, led to the arrest of six women, aged between 22 and 44, accused of participating in an assault against a 34-year-old man. The violent ambush occurred on October 2nd. The victim was hit repeatedly with baseball bats and injured in the leg by a gunshot fired by a 30-year-old who accompanied the group of women. The episode would be linked to tensions of a personal nature, attributable to a complicated romantic relationship.

The 30-year-old had already been stopped weeks ago by the police and is currently in prison on charges of aggravated assault and illegal possession of a firearm. The six women, arrested today on the warrant of the investigating magistrate of the North Naples court, are responsible for aggravated assault. Five were placed under house arrest, while a sixthfound in possession of 100 grams of cocaine during the notification of the arrest, she was transferred to Secondigliano prison.

The investigations, conducted by Prosecutor’s Office of North Naples in collaboration with i carabinieri of Sant’Antimohave reconstructed the attack in detail, described as a real punitive expedition. The victim, ex-husband of the thirty-year-old’s current partner, was apparently reached in the street and brutally beaten, and then rescued and transported to Frattamaggiore hospital. When the police arrived on the scene, the attackers had already fled. The 34-year-old’s story and the testimonies of some people present during the attack were decisive for the investigations, confirming the active role of the six women and the thirty-year-old in the events.
