Kieran Tierney will reportedly leave Arsenal after six years at the club following bosses’ decision not to give him a new contract.
The Scot joined the Gunners in 2019 from Celtic after rising through the ranks of his boyhood club.
The left-back settled in very well at the Emirates, making 27 Premier League appearances in the 2020-21 season, 22 in the 2021-22 campaign and 27 the following year.
But he was loaned to Actual Sociedad last season as Mikel Arteta looked to take his team to the next level, favoring players such as Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior.
This season has been plagued by a hamstring injury suffered in the opening match of his country’s Euro 2024 campaign. He returned to the bench last month and even started in Wednesday’s EFL Cup win over Crystal Palace, but left with another blow.
Now Tierney’s departure from the club appears to be close, with Arsenal bosses rejecting the possibility of extending his contract for a further year. that of Atletico David Ornstein reports.

The left-back returned from injury in the Gunners’ 3-2 win over Crystal Palace.
But he ended up lasting only 69 minutes and was injured again on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old’s contract ends in June and the date for the Gunners to add an extra 12 months to his term has now passed.
This leaves Scotland free to negotiate with foreign parties from January with the possibility of an immediate move.
There is interest from English clubs as well as the romantic option of returning to Celtic to reunite with his old team.
It is also believed that his time in Spain opened up possible links there.
Tierney won his 125th game for Arsenal in Wednesday’s 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace, but was replaced by Arteta in the 69th minute.
In that time, the winger has scored five goals and provided 13 assists to his teammates. He won the FA Cup at the end of his first season with the club.
The Gunners survived a late scare against the Eagles in the EFL Cup to advance in the tournament after Gabriel Jesus ended a 10-month goal drought with a spectacular hat-trick.
The visitors surprised Mikel Arteta’s men early in the match, who were much changed from their Premier League draw against Everton, scoring within three minutes through Jean-Philippe Mateta, who slotted a ball over.

Tierney (in the photo, with Héctor Bellerin) lifted the FA Cup in his first season at the club in 2020.
He suffered an injury setback in the summer and had to make a difficult start in Scotland’s Euro 2024 opener.
After a monotonous initial period, the Spaniard brought out the big guns. Captain Martin Odegaard and centre-back William Saliba came into play to try to change things.
The changes worked. Dean Henderson was forced to make an excellent save from Sterling’s close-range shot before the Englishman fired a shot onto the crossbar.
But minutes later his frustrations ended when Odegaard slipped Jesus and the Brazilian passed the ball over the goalkeeper.
He was equally clinical and gave Arsenal the lead after being found by the substituted Bukayo Saka, before completing his hat-trick following a precise pass from Odegaard. Former Gunners striker Eddie Nketiah got consolation with a header.
