How to plan the idle land in the city’s “golden corner and silver border”? Build a “pocket park” for people to relax and exercise! Recently, the Hangxing Road Node Park (Phase II) in Yuhang District has been completed and will be officially opened soon.

This park is located on the west side of Hanghang Road, between Yuanyun Road and Jinchang Road. The total land area of the project is approximately 10,978 square meters, and the landscape renovation will be implemented in two phases. The second phase of the park plans to build 311.6 square meters of multi-functional sports and cultural buildings, 2774.4 square meters of underground parking, an elevated fitness running track and a basketball court, and implement garden landscape lighting.

The project is planned to be built into a “pocket park” with flexible space and specialized functions. As an important part of urban micro-renewal, “pocket parks” can “add greenery wherever possible” and configure plants and facilities according to local conditions to meet people’s needs for parks in high-density urban areas.

The project integrates functional spaces into the garden landscape to create a multi-functional complex open park integrating fitness, culture and leisure. The park’s street trees use beech trees with brown-red leaves, the main park road uses soapberry with bright yellow leaves as the skeleton, and the landscape nodes use tallow trees with rich leaves as the characteristic tree species, so that urban roads and park green spaces form a spatial hierarchy. Contrast the colors to make them look interesting.

A 3.5-meter-wide permeable asphalt running track is set up in a zigzag shape around the park to meet functions such as leisure sports. At the same time, the park also promotes the construction model of “pocket park + sports” to create a shared fitness space mainly composed of basketball courts.
