The Loudunais Archers organized two days of competitions: for young people and beginners on Saturday November 16, and for competitors on November 16 and 17, 2024. The shooting ranges were installed at the Petit-Colas gymnasium in Loudun.
There were around twenty young people under 18 and three adult beginners, and 148 participants, including 32 from Loudunais, for the selective competition for the regional and French championships.
The young chicks shot at 10 m and, depending on their level, at targets from 40 to 122 cm. The Loudunais monopolized the three places on the podium (two young people and an adult beginner).
In total, nineteen clubs were present, from Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Vienne and Deux-Sèvres in the lead, but also from Dordogne and the Center Region.
The first day ended with a festive shooting, for a lovely friendly evening. The archers shot at sports shooting targets offered by the La Roche-Rigault shooting club, TS2R.
The Loudun club has, this year, a workforce of sixty-six licensees, “ which has never happened before, announces President Catherine Guépin, delighted with this record. The firing range is complete ».
Note the results of Loudun in senior 1 girl: Justine Lepinay and Melissa Lienard, 1re et 2e in classic arch; Béatrice Souchet in senior 3 and Sandra Pottier in bare arch, both first in their category.
On the men’s side, the senior 3 performed in recurve 1re at 3e place: Jean-Pierre Coric, Jean-Yves Delepine and Michel Pottier.
