We continue on a roll with the animes that arrive almost by surprise to Netflix. If a few weeks ago we could get into a marathon of ‘Oshi no Ko’ and ‘Ore Monogatari!’, now we can move on to the sports animes de la mano de ‘Tsurune’.
THE 10 BEST SERIES OF THE DECADE (2010-2019)
Archery, and personal improvement
‘Tsurune’ started in 2018 to adapt the light novels by Kotoko Ayano and Chinatsu Morimoto, and focuses on Minato Narumiya. Years ago, he really enjoyed archery, until he went through a particularly tough tournament and lost his passion for the sport.
Already in high school, his childhood friends try to convince him to join the kyudo club with them. But it’s not until she meets a mysterious man at an archery range that Minato regains inspiration to pick up the bow again.
‘Tsurune’ is a very emotional and subtle sports animeif we compare it with much more frenetic ones like ‘Blue Lock’ or ‘Haikyuu!!’ but it is also a great introduction to the genre spokon because it manages to keep you in suspense as Minato regains his taste for sports. And if you’ve never been interested in archery, make you fall in love with it too with the team at Kazemai High School.
At the time you could follow the first season of 13 episodes en Crunchyroll, but now ‘Tsurune’ has become a little more accessible thanks to your arrival a Netflix. The second season premiered in 2023 but internationally it had only been seen on HIDIVE, so let’s hope that it will also arrive on Netflix soon to enjoy the series in its entirety.
