An auspicious start for the artistic swimming athletes of Polisportiva Riccione: last weekend saw both young promises and veterans in the pool in the first two competitive events of the season. The competitions began on Saturday 14 December with the long-awaited Star Race at the Riccione Swimming Stadium, an event dedicated to the youngest athletes. Despite their young age, they stood out with commitment and determination, demonstrating great progress.
But the highlight was Sunday 15 December with the first Regional Championship of the season in Forlì for the girls and junior categories, an important event to test the technical level of the home athletes in view of the Italian Championships. Viola Palmieri’s performance was excellent, obtaining the silver medal in the compulsory competition and qualifying for the Italian junior championships.
Excellent results also for Anna Torroni who placed fourth in the compulsory competition, also obtaining qualification for the Italian championships. Qualification also for Lia Baldisserri and Camilla Bonduà, both qualified for the Italian Junior championships thanks to the excellent performances offered in the race. There was no shortage of satisfaction in the Girls category too: Amelia Cecchini and Martina Rossi stood out with high-level performances, earning qualification for the Italian Girls championships.
A weekend that highlighted the value of Riccione’s athletes, capable of excelling both in regional competitions and in events dedicated to the youngest. These successes are the result of constant work by the athletes, the technical staff and the entire club. “Congratulations to all the girls for the extraordinary results obtained and a special applause to the little ones who, with their enthusiasm, represent the future of sport” commented the president of Polisportiva Riccione, Michele Nitti.
