The third session of the Federal Council opened with the President’s Communications Marco Mazzieriwho participated in the election of the new council of the Italian Baseball League for the Blind and Visually Impaired, in which the only candidate for president Stefano Malaguti happened to Alberto Mazzantiwith the entry of representatives from Unime, Varese, Bologna and Rome.
The President then reported the meeting to Macron, the technical sponsor of the National Teams for 2025.
Regarding the 2025 Regions Tournament, after the Secretary General’s visit to Sardinia Giampiero Curtiwhich from the point of view of logistics and structures gave positive indications, and the discussions held with the local representatives of the President himself, from an organizational point of view an appropriate evaluation of the available resources appears necessary.
To date, requests for affiliation from 241 companies have been registered.
For competitive activity, also following the various meetings held with the clubs, for softball the CF decided to change the categories from U-15 to U-16, with U-15 pitcher, and from U-18 to U -19, leaving for the Regions in which a second weekly meeting is scheduled, to the local evaluation, with the possibility of involving older athletes.
Regarding entry clearances for athletes from other Federations, the limit of 06/30/2025 has been inserted, after which they will no longer be granted.
Extensive discussion was held to approve the Competitive Activity Documentation which will be shared with the clubs in view of the upcoming championship registration deadlines and repechage requests.
Among the provisions, for Serie A Baseball. Group A is the only one with 8 teams, with 2 weekly matches of 9 innings, which are played on Fridays and Saturdays on reversed pitches, unless otherwise agreed between clubs.
Groups B, C, D, E are made up of 6 teams each.
The start of Serie A is set for Friday 11 April.
Control of field change times by umpires in youth baseball games has been added.
The CF then confirmed the Presidency of the National Classifiers Committee (CNC) Anna Maria Paini and nominated Elio Dal Pozzo President of the Competition Organization Commission (COG).
