Wildeshausen – After a win and a defeat on their first home game day this season, the SC Wildeshausen badminton players had to lose contact with the league leaders in the district league. With 15 points from ten games, the Wildeshausers are currently in third place – SuS Darme at the top (20) is now five points ahead.

The fact that there are no fewer is due to the SC’s narrow 3:5 defeat in a direct duel with the leaders from Lingen. The hosts had a promising result in the doubles, as Elias Nachtigal/Oskar Voß and Marie Sudholz/Sonja Grünewald initially scored two points, and later Andreas Kühling/Grünewald also won the mixed doubles. However, Kühling/Marvin Walther were unlucky as they narrowly lost the first men’s doubles match 19:21 in the third set. Since all the singles went to the guests, the Wildeshausers were left empty-handed. Things went better in the game against TuS Gildehaus. The SC had the winless bottom of the table under control with a 7-1 win. Only Marie Sudholz in the women’s singles had to give up a match. But she presented herself with strong nerves alongside Grünewald in the women’s doubles – the Wildeshausen women won the game 24:22 in the third set.

In the district class, however, the second representative of SC Wildeshausen is still waiting for its first win of the season. Also in their own hall, Philip Möllers, Detlef von Döllen, Gunnar Zieger, Jochen Heumos, Maren Nitz, Rita Benölken and Sabrina Jacobi were able to fight for at least a 4:4 against SG Bloherfelde/Hundsmühlen/Neuenwege II. In the 3:5 win against Wardenburger TV, the SC reserves were close to sharing points. The narrow three-set defeat of Heumos/von Döllen in the first men’s doubles against Marcus Schippmann/Thomas Methner (17:21, 21:19, 20:22) was particularly annoying. Jana Runde/Nadine Joschko, Solveig Pieper, Thomas Methner and Benedikt Dittel/Pieper won the other points for Wardenburg. With the 5:3 win against Delmenhorster FC III, the Wardenburgers crowned what they considered a successful match day and improved to third place.
