Chelsea Cruises to Victory in Conference League
Chelsea continued their dominant run in teh Conference League with a resounding 5-1 victory over Shamrock Rovers on Thursday night. The Blues, who remain undefeated in the competition, now sit atop the group standings with an impressive 18 points.
Manager Enzo Maresca opted for a youthful lineup, giving starts to 18-year-olds josh Acheampong and Tyrique George, alongside former PSV Eindhoven player Noni Madueke.
The match was effectively decided in the first half, although Shamrock Rovers briefly threatened a comeback. Despite falling behind early, the Irish side managed to equalize, capitalizing on a defensive error by Chelsea.However, Chelsea quickly regained control, with Guiu scoring twice in quick succession, both goals stemming from defensive lapses by Shamrock Rovers.Kieran Dewsbury-hall added a third goal before halftime, extending Chelsea’s lead.

This win solidifies Chelsea’s position as group leaders, with vitória Guimarães trailing by four points. Fiorentina, Rapid Wien, Djurgårdens IF, Lugano, Legia Warschau, and Cercle Brugge complete the top eight, securing automatic qualification for the next round.
Teams finishing between ninth and 24th will compete in a playoff round to determine the remaining spots in the knockout stage. this playoff round will take place on February 13th and 20th, with the round of 16 commencing on March 6th.
