This year’s Liestal Cup saw remarkable talent emerge across all categories. In the U15 girls division, Robyn dominated with consistent, high-level performances, securing the top spot. lilly’s technical prowess earned her a well-deserved second place, while Nisa’s fighting spirit propelled her to a commendable third place finish.
The U15 boys category witnessed a fierce battle for supremacy. Ilay emerged victorious, consistently placing at the top throughout the year. Jago’s strategic brilliance and unwavering determination secured him second place, while Max’s strong performances earned him a respectable third place.
The U18/U21 division saw Celina, a dominant force in her category, claim the top spot even in her absence. Simon’s consistent performances throughout the year earned him a well-deserved second place, while Maria’s commitment and successes landed her a commendable third place.
In the Master/Elite/Veteran category, experience and consistency reigned supreme. Luca C. emerged as the top point scorer, solidifying his position as a leader in his category. Esmi, despite her absence from some competitions, secured a strong second place with remarkable performances. Luca T.rounded out the top three with consistent strong placings.
Celina’s exceptional performance throughout the year earned her the coveted title of overall champion for the second consecutive year, cementing her status as one of the region’s most talented judokas.

Let’s dive right into the Liestal Cup. The U15 girls division saw Robyn emerge as the clear frontrunner. were you surprised by her dominance this season?
not at all. Robyn possesses incredible natural talent, coupled with an unwavering dedication to training. She has been steadily improving each year, and this victory is a testament to her hard work and discipline.
Lilly and Nisa secured impressive second and third places. What are your thoughts on thier performances?
Both Lilly and Nisa are incredibly skilled judokas with promising futures. Lilly’s technical prowess is exceptional, while Nisa displayed incredible fighting spirit throughout the season. They both pushed Robyn hard and proved that the U15 girls’ category is incredibly competitive.
Moving on to the U15 boys, Ilay’s consistency throughout the year landed him the top spot. What makes him such a formidable competitor?
Ilay is a tactical genius. He has a keen understanding of Judo strategies and executes them flawlessly. He also possesses remarkable composure under pressure, which is crucial in high-stakes matches.
Jago and Max also put up a strong fight. How would you describe their styles?
Jago is a master of improvisation, adapting his approach quickly to his opponent’s style. Max, conversely, is a powerhouse, relying on his strength and determination to dominate his opponents.
Celina, who has been a dominant force in the U18/U21 division, clinched first place even while absent for some competitions. That’s remarkable!
Celina is truly exceptional. She’s a natural athlete with an incredible work ethic. Even when she’s not competing, she’s constantly pushing herself in training, which explains her ability to maintain her top form despite absences.
Simon and maria’s performances were commendable as well. What were your key takeaways from their performance this season?
Simon’s consistent performances throughout the year demonstrate his dedication and commitment. He’s a solid competitor who is always improving.Maria’s fighting spirit and determination were truly inspiring.
in the Master/Elite/Veteran category, Luca C. solidified his position as a leader. There’s a lot of experience in that division.Would you agree?

Esmi’s performance was impressive considering her absences. what qualities allow athletes like Esmi to excel despite facing challenges?
