Young Judo Stars Shine at Hérault Championships
The Bernard-Jeu room in Mèze was abuzz with energy as the Hérault junior and junior judo championships unfolded on December 14th and 15th.The mezois Judo club showcased its thriving community with approximately fifteen young athletes competing across various weight categories.Saturday saw the youngest competitors take center stage. In the under 50 kg division, gabriel Gener and Brennan Roussel secured bronze medals, demonstrating their skill and determination. Lili Ben Khaled Audibert,competing in the under 40 kg category,fought valiantly to claim the vice-champion title for Hérault.
The day also witnessed remarkable performances from Giulia Saez (63 kg), Marcus Meissonnier (under 38 kg), and Ethan Privat (under 60 kg). These talented judokas dominated their respective categories, earning the prestigious title of Hérault champion and leaving their opponents in their wake.
Sunday’s competition featured the junior judokas. Noé Rousson (73 kg) and Constance Calvayrac (under 52 kg) both secured commendable third-place finishes, showcasing their resilience and technical prowess. Océane gauchet,competing in the under 40 kg category,fought her way to the final,ultimately earning the vice-champion title for Hérault.
Lorenzo Lutrat (under 30 kg) and Constance Bourdet Bouffinier (under 32 kg) also delivered strong performances,narrowly missing out on podium finishes.
These notable results highlight the dedication and talent within the Mezois Judo club. the young athletes who placed in the top three have now qualified for higher-level competitions, marking an exciting next chapter in their judo journeys.
