the eastern Conference is brutal. Night after night, these teams are battling tooth and nail. But right now, the Knicks have that intangible swagger, that belief in themselves that can carry a team a long way. I wouldn’t bet against them.

Bill Walton: Karl-Anthony Towns is the engine that drives this Knicks machine. He’s a unique talent, a versatile big man who can score inside and outside, rebound, and facilitate for his teammates. when he’s commanding the paint like he did against Toronto, the whole team feeds off his energy.
But it wasn’t just Towns. Cam Payne stepped up big, Mikal Bridges was solid, and Jalen Brunson provided his usual steady hand.

Chris Boucher had a nice game, especially considering he’s a local kid playing in front of his hometown crowd. But they need more consistency from their core players if they want to turn things around on the road.

Bill Walton: The East is incredibly competitive this year. it’s going to be a dogfight for playoff spots. The Raptors have the talent,but they need to find answers to their road woes and develop a stronger defensive identity. It’s a tall order, but it’s not insurmountable.
this Knicks team is exciting,Bill. What are your predictions for them moving forward? Can they contend for a championship?
Bill walton: It’s too early to talk about championships, but there’s no reason they can’t keep this momentum going. They’ve got a great coach in Tom Thibodeau who knows how to win, and they’ve got a hungry, talented group of players. I wouldn’t underestimate them.
