Shai gilgeous-Alexander’s stellar 41-point performance propelled the Oklahoma City Thunder to their eighth consecutive victory,a 123-105 triumph over the Washington Wizards. This impressive winning streak, the longest for the Thunder since January 2018, echoes the team’s dominant run during the 2013-14 season.
The matchup, pitting the Western Conference-leading Thunder against the struggling Wizards, delivered an exciting contest. Gilgeous-alexander’s offensive outburst, which followed a sluggish start, was complemented by double-doubles from Jalen Williams, Isaiah Hartenstein, and rookie Ajay Mitchell. Jordan Poole led the Wizards with 31 points.

Backcourt Battles and Upsets: A Chat with NBA legend jason Kidd
welcome, fans, to another episode of Courtside with Coach Kidd! Today, we’re breaking down a whirlwind of a night in the NBA. Joining me is none other than five-time NBA all-star and legendary point guard, Jason Kidd. Welcome to the show, J-Kidd!
Jason Kidd: thanks for having me. Always a pleasure to talk hoops!
Host: So, Kidd, last night was a night of utter chaos. Eight-game win streak for the Thunder? A Magic win against the Celtics? The snipers where locked in! What were your takeaways from this loaded night of basketball?
Jason Kidd:
I gotta hand it to OKC,they’re clicking on all cylinders right now. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is playing like a true MVP candidate. Eight wins in a row is impressive, but they need to make sure they don’t get complacent. The West is a gauntlet, brother. Every night’s a battle.
But let’s talk about Orlando. That Magic win over Boston was straight-up larceny. They were the underdogs, no question, but they played with that heart and hustle that can upset any team.
Host: Definitely a David vs. Goliath story! Speaking of upsets, we saw some serious surprises like the Pacers taking down the Warriors. What do you make of these underdog victories?
Jason Kidd:
These young teams, they’re hungry. They’re fearless. On any given night,
they can surprise you. The Warriors are a dynasty, but they’re not invincible. The Pacers showed us that. You gotta respect the grind, man.
Host: Absolutely! And what about the Clippers? Ending the grizzlies’ home dominance is no easy feat.
Jason kidd:
Kawhi
Leonard and Paul george didn’t even play, and they still knock off Memphis? That just showsyou the depth of that Clippers squad. They’re a legitimate contender this year.
Host: I agree. Their bench stepped up big time. now, everyone’s buzzing about this unbelievable Thunder streak. How far can they realistically go? Can they challenge for the title this year?
Jason Kidd:
It’s gotta be about staying healthy, first and foremost. But if they maintain this level of play, they can definitely make noise. They’re young, athletic, and Shai is playing like a superstar. They remind me a bit of my Nets back in the day.
Host: That’s high praise coming from you, Jason. Alright, folks, there you have it. Insightful analysis from a true legend. Thanks for your time, Kidd!
Jason Kidd: My pleasure. Let the games keep coming!
