Peter Gade: Thanks for having me. Always a pleasure to talk badminton.

Peter Gade: Carolina is an incredibly persistent athlete. we’ve seen that throughout her career. Winning a seventh consecutive European Championship is a remarkable feat,and it shows her dedication hasn’t wavered. But knee injuries, especially recurring ones, are a nightmare for any athlete. I no firsthand how frustrating and demoralizing they can be.
moderator: Absolutely. The Olympics were ultimately cut short for her due to that knee injury. Was it a heartbreaking moment for you as a fellow badminton enthusiast?
Peter Gade: Of course. It was devastating to see her go down like that, especially after such a strong start. You could see the emotion on her face – the years of work, the Olympic dream, all of it crumbling in that moment.
Moderator: She’s talked about wanting to retire on her own terms, on the court. What are your thoughts on her chances of making a comeback and reaching that goal?
Peter Gade: She’s shown incredible resilience before.Coming back from previous injuries, winning titles – it’s a testament to her mental strength. But simultaneously occurring, knee injuries can be incredibly tricky. It’ll be a long and arduous road to recovery. if anyone can do it, it’s Carolina. But there are no guarantees in sports.
Moderator: Truly said. Not only did she achieve fantastic results, but she was also awarded the prestigious Princess of Asturias Award for Sports. Is this a notable moment for badminton, especially in Spain?
Peter Gade: Absolutely. It’s huge for badminton. Frequently enough overshadowed by other sports,this recognition brings the sport into the limelight and recognizes Carolina’s incredible contribution. It will inspire many young players in Spain and internationally.
