The All Japan Judo Federation recently hosted a vibrant Judo experience class at the “Bunkyo Sports Park 2024” event, held at the Bunkyo Sports Center in Tokyo on October 14th. This initiative, supported by JUDOs, aimed to introduce the world of judo to a new generation.Our team, including Ms. Riki Iwamoto and Mr.Michael Miller, a graduate of the 2023 JUDOs International Judo Coaching Seminar, played a key role in facilitating this engaging experience. Over 150 children, ranging from toddlers to elementary school students, along with their parents, participated in the class, which ran from 10 am to 5 pm.
Under the guidance of experienced Zenjuren staff,the young participants learned essential judo techniques,including ukemi (breakfalls) and throwing techniques. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm as children discovered the joy of movement and the principles of respect and discipline inherent in judo.
Adding to the excitement, World Deaf Judo Championships medalists Masaki Sato and Kazuma Gamo graced the event with their presence. thay not only interacted with the children, sharing their passion for judo, but also showcased their impressive skills, inspiring awe and admiration.
