Olympic badminton sensation PV Sindhu embarked on a new chapter in her life,exchanging vows with entrepreneur Venkata Datta Sai in a private ceremony held in the picturesque city of Udaipur. The 29-year-old Hyderabad native, renowned for her remarkable achievements on the badminton court, found love with Sai, who serves as an executive director at Posidex Technologies.
The nuptials, steeped in tradition, were an intimate affair, uniting close family and friends to celebrate the union. Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, shared the first official glimpse of the newlyweds on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) the day after the ceremony, extending his heartfelt wishes and blessings for their future together.
Sindhu’s wedding celebrations commenced with a lively Sangeet ceremony on december 20th,where music and dance filled the air,bringing both families together in joyous festivity. The following day witnessed the observance of customary pre-wedding rituals,including Haldi,Pellikuthuru,and Mehendi,adding to the richness of the festivities.
This joyous occasion followed Sindhu’s triumphant return from the Syed Modi International tournament in Lucknow, where she secured victory, marking the end of a title drought for the badminton star.

Prakash Padukone: I don’t believe marriage will negatively impact sindhu’s abilities. In fact, I think it could be a positive influence. A supportive partner can provide stability and encouragement, which can be incredibly beneficial for an athlete. sindhu is known for her mental fortitude and dedication, and I’m confident she’ll manage both aspects of her life effectively.
As a coach and mentor to generations of badminton players, what advice would you give to young athletes looking to balance personal life and professional ambitions like Sindhu?
Prakash Padukone: My advice would be to find that balance early on. Sports require unwavering commitment, but it’s vital to nurture personal relationships and interests outside of training. It’s about leading a holistic life, and Sindhu perfectly exemplifies that.
