The inaugural Macau Tennis Celebrity Match saw Team Zhang emerge victorious, defeating Team Li Na in a thrilling display of athleticism and sportsmanship.
Team Zhang secured an early lead on the first day with a score of 4-3. The following day, each match win, excluding the captain’s match, awarded teams three points, intensifying the competition.
Zhang’s team member, Mu Zhuova, showcased her prowess in the women’s singles match against Wang Xinyu. After a grueling baseline rally, Mu Zhuova capitalized on a forced error by her opponent, breaking serve in the sixth game and gaining the upper hand. A decisive volley in the final point of the first set sealed a 6-3 victory for Mu Zhuova.
Adding to the excitement, Zhang himself took the court for the captain’s match, defeating Li Na and securing a crucial point for his team. This unique mixed-gender team format, a first in Asia, added a new dimension to the competition.

Rublev’s strategic play and powerful angled shots proved too much for Rudy, who struggled to keep up. Despite the competitive spirit, the exhibition match emphasized camaraderie and amiable rivalry.
A highlight of the match came when Rudy attempted a daring between-the-legs shot, which, aided by a lucky net cord, resulted in a point. The crowd erupted in cheers,appreciating the lighthearted moment.Rublev ultimately triumphed with scores of 6-4 and 7-5, extending Team Zhang’s lead to 11-3. This decisive victory secured their overall win, rendering the final men’s singles match inconsequential.
While Shang Jun cheng salvaged some pride for Team Li Na by defeating Kei Nishikori in straight sets (6-3, 6-4), Team Zhang’s dominance was undeniable. Thay emerged as champions of the inaugural Macau Tennis Celebrity Match with a final score of 11-6.
