Prepare to be captivated by a dynamic program featuring demonstrations and hands-on activities. Witness the skill and determination of para-hockey athletes at 11:15 am and 2:15 pm. Experience the therapeutic power of animal-assisted therapy at noon and 3:00 pm, a popular activity known for its calming and beneficial effects.
For those interested in martial arts, adapted judo enthusiasts will be showcasing their techniques at 11:45 am and 3:30 pm.

Gabriel Lefort: It’s fantastic to be here. The Escapade Forum is more than just an event; it’s a powerful symbol of inclusion. Seeing so many organizations and individuals come together to promote accessibility in sport and culture sends a powerful message. It shows people with disabilities that there’s a place for them, a space where their abilities are celebrated, not their limitations.
Moderator: Absolutely. The forum features a diverse range of activities – everything from para-hockey demonstrations to adapted cycling. Do you think exposing people to this breadth of possibilities is crucial to breaking down preconceived notions about disability and sport?
Gabriel Lefort: Without a doubt. Many people still hold misconceptions about what individuals with disabilities can achieve. events like the Escapade Forum shatter those stereotypes by showcasing the unbelievable talent and determination within our community. Seeing someone excel in para-hockey or adapted judo – it challenges assumptions and opens minds.
Moderator: The forum also highlights the importance of support networks and organizations. How crucial have these been in your journey as an archer?
Gabriel Lefort: My journey wouldn’t be what it is indeed without the support of organizations like the French Paralympic Committee and the countless individuals who have championed inclusivity in archery. They’ve provided me with access to training, equipment, and mentorship, allowing me to pursue my passion and compete at the highest level.
Moderator: Looking at the broader picture,what do you see as the biggest challenges facing inclusion in sport?
Gabriel Lefort: we still have a long way to go. Accessibility remains a major hurdle, both in terms of physical infrastructure and access to specialized coaching and equipment.There’s also a need for greater representation of athletes with disabilities in mainstream media and sporting events. We need to normalize the presence of athletes with disabilities and ensure their stories are told.
Moderator: That’s crucial. Visibility is key to driving change. What message do you want to leave our readers with today?
Gabriel lefort: We all have a role to play in creating a more inclusive sporting landscape. Whether it’s supporting local organizations, challenging stereotypes, or simply being open-minded and welcoming, our actions can make a difference. Together, we can ensure that sport is truly for everyone.
