Your story is truly inspiring, transitioning from baseball dreams to becoming a celebrated comedian. When you look back on your time devoted to baseball, what stands out as the most valuable lesson you learned?
Yoshio: Probably the importance of teamwork and pushing beyond your comfort zone. Baseball taught me the discipline of practice, the thrill of competition, and the power of camaraderie.Even though I didn’t make it to the professional level, those experiences shaped me in ways I still benefit from today.

Your childhood story resonated deeply with me because I, too, had athletic aspirations that took a different direction. I was a wrestler in high school, and a shoulder injury ultimately put a stop to my dreams.
How did your experience of being unexpectedly outperformed by a teammate influence your decision to step away from baseball?
Yoshio: It was a humbling moment, for sure. I was a bit denial about it at the time. I think subconsciously I already knew my talent wasn’t quite there, but the realization hit hard. It forced me to acknowledge my limitations and consider other options.
Moderator: in hindsight, do you believe you were chasing a dream that ultimately wasn’t meant to be, or was this a necessary step towards finding your true calling as a comedian?
Yoshio: I think it’s a bit of both. Maybe I was clinging to the baseball dream a bit too tightly, afraid to face the possibility of failure. But that experience opened my eyes to other possibilities, showed me that there’s more than one path to fulfillment. It allowed me to discover a talent I never knew I had – the ability to bring joy and laughter to others.
