KBL All-Star Game Heats Up with Stellar Three-Point and Slam Dunk Contests
The 2024-25 KCC Professional Basketball All-Star Game is set to ignite Busan’s Sajik Gymnasium on January 19th, 2025, with a thrilling showcase of skill and athleticism. The KBL has announced the highly anticipated lineups for the Three-Point Contest and Slam dunk Contest, promising an unforgettable spectacle for fans.
Three-Point Sharpshooters Aim for Glory
Seventeen sharpshooters will battle it out in the Three-Point Contest, vying for the title of the league’s best long-range marksman. Reigning champion Lee Geun-hwi (KCC) returns to defend his crown, facing stiff competition from a roster of elite three-point specialists.
Among the contenders are Lee Jung-hyun (Sono), Heo Woong (KCC), and Ryu Ki-sang (LG), all currently ranked among the league’s top three-point shooters. Adding to the excitement is the arrival of promising rookie Jung Sung-jo (Sono), eager to make his mark on the All-Star stage.
The competition will unfold in two stages: a preliminary round to narrow the field, followed by a final showdown where the top four scorers will battle for supremacy. The format remains unchanged from last season, with players aiming to rack up the highest score across five designated areas and the Deep3 zone within a 70-second time limit.High-Flying Dunkers Prepare to Soar
Ten athletes, a mix of domestic and international talent, will take to the air in the Slam Dunk Contest, promising a display of gravity-defying acrobatics.
All eyes will be on Dionte Burton (KCC), the 2017-2018 All-Star champion known for his electrifying dunks, including the windmill and the 360-degree spin.
Joining Burton are a host of exciting newcomers, including Gymboree (DB), Lee Geun-jun (Sono), Park Jung-woong (Cheongkwanjang), Son Jun (Korea Gas Corporation), and Lee Dae-gyun (Hyundai Mobis), all ready to showcase their aerial prowess and challenge for the dunk crown.
All-Star Showdown: Kblemont vs. Kong Aki
The All-Star Game itself will pit two powerhouse teams against each other: Kblemont, led by SK head coach Jeon Hee-cheol and captain Ryu Ki-sang, and Kong Aki, captained by Byun Junhyung and coached by Hyundai Mobis’ Cho Dong-hyun.
