Valencia enters the Race for Umar Sadiq
Valencia CF has emerged as a contender for the signature of Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq, following the appointment of Carlos Corberán as their new head coach. Do you think Valencia is the right fit for him?
Gaizka: Valencia is a club with a rich attacking tradition, and under Corberán, they’re trying to build a team that plays attractive, attacking football. If Sadiq can rediscover his form, he’ll have the opportunity to thrive there. But there are some concerns. His injury history is a worry, and he hasn’t been a regular starter for Sociedad this season.
And what about the competition from Getafe? how do you think that will play out?
Gaizka: Getafe needs goals,and they’ve shown interest in Sadiq before. It’s going to be a close battle, and it will depend on Sadiq’s preference and Real Sociedad’s negotiating position. One thing’s for sure, the transfer fee is reasonable, so it shouldn’t be a major hurdle for either club.
