Welcome Mike! Thanks so much for joining us.

Mike Golic: ‌ Always a pleasure! It’s great to be here and talk some football. buckle up, folks, as this playoffs is bound to be a wild ride!

Let’s start with the NFC.⁢ On paper, the Detroit lions‍ seem unstoppable this year. They’ve earned that coveted bye week. ⁣Are they the real deal, or just a product of hype?

MG: The Lions are‍ for real! They’ve got a potent offense, a gritty defense, and a swagger we haven’t seen in Motown for years. That bye week is huge, giving them time to rest and⁣ prepare. They’re a definite threat, but⁢ the‍ NFC is stacked with talent.

Indeed! We’ve got a Packers-Eagles rematch, always a fiery encounter, but also intriguing matchups like the Bucs against‍ Commanders and Rams‍ taking on the Vikings.Any upsets brewing there?

MG: The Packers always bring the fight against the Eagles, and ⁤that‌ game could go either way.The Rams and Vikings have explosive offenses; that one could be a shootout. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a couple of underdogs make ⁣some noise in the NFC.

Let’s switch sides. The AFC is a different beast ⁤altogether. The Kansas City Chiefs are the reigning champs, chasing that‍ unprecedented three-peat. Can anyone⁣ dethrone them?

MG: ‌ The Chiefs are the team to beat, there’s no doubt whatsoever. Mahomes is a generational talent, and that offense is just poetry in motion. But⁣ they’ve shown vulnerabilities this season, and there are teams gunning for them.

Teams like the Bills, with Josh Allen at ‍the helm, are a force to be reckoned with. And don’t sleep on Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. Their running game could cause headaches for any defense.

MG: Absolutely. The ⁢Bills and Ravens are serious contenders. Those matchups will be must-watch television.

Looking ahead to Super Bowl LIX ‌in New Orleans, who do you think‍ will be hoisting that Lombardi⁤ Trophy?

MG: I’ve⁤ got to go with the Chiefs. They’ve got the experience, the talent, and ⁣that‍ unwavering belief‍ in themselves. But mark my words, this playoffs won’t be a cakewalk for them.

I agree.

It’s a tough call, Mike. what about the fans -⁤ where do you think their heads are at? any dark ⁤horses they⁣ should keep an eye on?

MG: The fans are hungry for a new champion, but they also ⁣respect what the Chiefs have accomplished. I think the Lions will get a lot of love, and the Ravens always have a passionate fanbase. As for dark horses, the chargers exceeded expectations⁣ this season. They could be a⁤ real spoiler.

Discussions about the MVP race?

MG: ⁣Mahomes is the frontrunner, but don’t count out Josh Allen. If the‍ Bills make a deep ‌playoff ‌run, ‍Allen could steal ⁣the votes.

It’s shaping up to be a ‌thrilling postseason, mike. Thanks so much for your time and insights!

MG: Always a pleasure! Enjoy the‍ games, everyone. It’s going to be a wild ride!
