Bassillac-et-Auberoche prioritizes the well-being of its residents by ensuring access to essential services and fostering a strong sense of community. Town halls remain open for an average of 30 hours per week, and a new service for issuing identity cards and passports was launched in 2024.
Recognizing the importance of education, the municipality boasts five schools serving 469 students. To combat potential class closures and attract families, Bassillac-et-Auberoche provides thorough childcare services, including daycare centers, affordable canteens, a crèche, and after-school programs. Construction of a new after-school activity center (ALSH) is slated to begin in 2025 at Change,further enriching the educational landscape.
Cultivating a Vibrant Community
Bassillac-et-Auberoche fosters a dynamic community through a thriving arts and sports scene. The municipality supports three major sports clubs (football, basketball, and tennis) and two additional clubs (judo and karate), ensuring a diverse range of athletic opportunities.
Recognizing the importance of youth engagement, the town invests in maintaining sports facilities, including five stadiums, a gymnasium, two tennis courts, and six city stadiums. To accommodate the growing needs of the basketball club, two indoor tennis courts will be constructed in 2025, providing dedicated space for this popular club with over 200 members.
The municipality also celebrates its vibrant cultural scene, boasting over 70 active associations. these organizations contribute to the town’s rich tapestry by organizing major events such as comic conventions,motocross races,car rallies,and the inaugural book fair scheduled for May 18th.
Supporting Local Businesses and Sustainable Growth
Bassillac-et-Auberoche is committed to supporting local businesses and promoting sustainable economic development. The town’s market and shops are thriving, with a new grocery store established at Le Change in 2024. In 2025, the Agora des Champs initiative will introduce racks featuring local products in eyliac, further strengthening the local economy.
Recognizing the importance of healthcare access, the municipality allocated a grant of €9,000 in 2024 to attract a new doctor, addressing a common challenge faced by manny communities.
Investing in Infrastructure and Environmental Responsibility
Bassillac-et-Auberoche prioritizes infrastructure improvements and environmental sustainability. With 150 km of municipal roads and over 30 designated drop-off points, the town has invested over €2 million in road maintenance and equipment for its agents over the past five years. The municipality is also collaborating with greater Périgueux to enhance mobility options, focusing on public transportation and cycling infrastructure.this includes developing dedicated paths and connections to key transportation hubs like train stations.
