Former football star Yaya Toure has officially transitioned into the world of coaching,marking a new chapter in his illustrious career. this Wednesday, the Ivorian celebrated a notable milestone by obtaining his UEFA Pro License, the highest coaching qualification in Europe. This prestigious credential empowers Toure to lead professional teams across the continent.
Toure, renowned for his triumphant playing days with Manchester City adn FC Barcelona, expressed his excitement on social media, stating, “I am thrilled to announce that I have earned my UEFA Professional License! This training has been incredibly enriching, and I’m eager to apply my knowledge and experience as a coach.I extend my gratitude to the FA mentors and my supportive friends and family.”
Toure’s coaching resume already includes stints at Olimpik Donetsk in Ukraine (2020) and Akhmat Grozny in Russia (2021). He also gained valuable experience as part of Tottenham’s technical staff. Most recently, Toure joined Roberto Mancini’s coaching team for the Saudi Arabian national squad.

Yaya Touré: Thanks! It’s been a journey, but I’m excited to embark on this new chapter. The UEFA Pro License program was incredibly enriching.
Moderator: you have already dipped your toes into coaching with stints at Olimpik Donetsk, Akhmat Grozny, and even with Tottenham’s technical staff. But with the Pro License in hand, your ambition seems geared towards a head coaching role. Is that the case?
Yaya Touré: Absolutely. I beleive I have a lot to offer as a head coach. I want to transmit my knowledge and experience to a new generation of players.
Moderator: you’re stepping into a highly competitive field. Manny believe your experience as a player, playing at the highest level for some of the biggest clubs, gives you a significant edge. Do you agree?
Yaya Touré: My playing days have certainly given me invaluable insights into the game. I understand the pressure,the tactics,the demands of top-level football. But coaching is a different beast altogether.It demands strong leadership,communication,and an ability to adapt. I’m constantly learning and evolving.
Moderator: Speaking of evolving, you’ve recently joined Roberto Mancini’s coaching staff for the Saudi Arabian national team. A engaging move! What attracts you to this challenge?
Yaya Touré: it’s a fantastic chance to work with a manager I respect immensely and to contribute to the progress of a passionate football nation.
Moderator: Saudi Arabia is making waves in the football world, investing heavily in infrastructure and attracting top talent. Do you see this as a move towards becoming a dominant force in international football?
Yaya Touré: They have the ambition and the resources. It will take time, but I believe they have the potential to make a real impact on the world stage.
Moderator: Let’s shift gears back to your playing days. You were known for your powerful runs from midfield,your ability to dominate games single-handedly. Now that you’re on the other side of the touchline,what advice would you give young midfielders aspiring to emulate your style?
Yaya Touré: Believe in yourself. Work hard. and always strive to learn and improve. The game is constantly evolving, so you need to be adaptable and willing to push your boundaries.
