The Appaméen Badminton Club (BCAP) is experiencing a surge of success, both on adn off the court. After a triumphant end to the previous year, marked by impressive performances in three tournaments, the club is gearing up for an exciting new season.
BCAP athletes showcased their skills at the Volant Club Toulousain, Albi, and ToulouseOAC tournaments.Notably,Qadim and Patrice secured a runner-up position in the DH1 category at the Volant Club de toulouse,while Mathieu and Arthur achieved the same feat at the Albi tournament.
Building on this momentum, the club is committed to maintaining its winning streak. Regular training sessions, participation in regional competitions, and upcoming tournaments are all part of the plan.The team is eager to replicate the success of December, where they secured decisive victories against Tournefeuille (6-2) and Argeles Gazost (7-1).
Mark Your Calendars: The Annual Doubles and Mixed Doubles Tournament
The BCAP invites badminton enthusiasts to its annual doubles and mixed doubles tournament, scheduled for April 26th and 27th, 2025. Saturday will feature doubles matches, followed by mixed doubles on Sunday.
Chantal Palanque,the club’s president,emphasizes the warm welcome that awaits participants. “As with every edition,our dedicated team and volunteers will ensure a memorable experience for all,” she says. “Traditionally, each series winner will receive a coveted ham, while finalists will be treated to appetizing gourmet prizes.” Registration for the tournament is now open.
Get Ready for “Blackminton”: A Night of Neon Fun
Adding a unique twist to its offerings, the BCAP is thrilled to announce a “Blackminton” night. Scheduled for saturday, February 1st, at the Bayle gymnasium, this event promises a thrilling blend of sport and social fun.
Participants will experience badminton in a whole new light – literally! The gym will be transformed into a neon wonderland, with blacklights illuminating fluorescent markings and body paint. Music will set the mood as players navigate the court in this unconventional and exhilarating setting.

Jean-Pierre Duval: Merci beaucoup. It’s truly gratifying to see the hard work of our athletes paying off. Our success is a culmination of several factors.Firstly, we have a dedicated and talented group of players who are incredibly passionate about badminton.Secondly, our training program is rigorous and focuses on developing both individual skills and team cohesion.We emphasize a holistic approach, incorporating everything from physical conditioning to tactical analysis. I believe the strong team spirit and camaraderie within the club play a significant role in fostering a positive and supportive environment where athletes can thrive.

As for “Blackminton,” I think it’s a brilliant idea! It’s a fun, innovative way to engage new audiences, inject some excitement into the sport, and create a truly memorable experience. Badminton is often perceived as a conventional sport, so introducing these modern twists will help attract a younger demographic and broaden the appeal of the club.

Jean-Pierre Duval: Inspiration comes from many sources: the thrill of competition, the joy of mastering a new skill, the satisfaction of setting and achieving goals. I try to instill these values in my players, encouraging them to push their limits, embrace challenges, and always strive for improvement.
