That fight showed me that Jiří had the stamina and determination to go the distance with a seasoned veteran and come out on top.

Vémola: Without a doubt. Those early experiences, fighting in front of your home crowd, facing tough opponents, it builds character. It teaches you to dig deep and never give up. You see it time and again with fighters – those early battles, they shape who they become.
Moderator: You mentioned Šolec’s toughness. He absorbed a lot of punishment in that fight. Do you think his resilience was a testament to his training or simply his natural fighting spirit?
Vémola: It’s probably a combination of both. You need a strong training regimen to build that kind of durability,but some fighters just seem to have that extra bit of grit,that ability to withstand pain and keep coming forward. Šolec definitely had that.
Moderator: Looking back, how would you say that GFC tournament stacked up against other events in Czech MMA history?
Vémola: I think it was one of the defining moments for the sport in our country. You had two future champions on the card, both delivering incredible performances. It showed the world that Czech MMA was a force to be reckoned with.
Moderator: Now, you’re gearing up for what could be your final fight against Attila Végh. Do you think the young generation of Czech fighters is poised to carry the torch after your generation retires?
Vémola: oh, without a doubt. There’s a lot of young talent coming up, guys with skills and heart. It’s exciting to see the future of Czech MMA.
