Do you think they can turn things around,even without their superstar leader?
Mark: it’s a tough road for sure. Losing Curry for an extended period can cripple any team, and the Warriors are no exception. They rely so heavily on his offensive firepower and leadership. We saw Dennis Schröder struggle against the Pacers, and while he’s a capable player, he’s not Steph.
That said, the Warriors have a championship pedigree. Their experience and tactical genius from Coach Kerr can’t be underestimated. If they can work on finding a more consistent offensive flow and shore up their defense, they might be able to climb their way back up the standings, but it won’t be easy.

It’s interesting to see othre German players making their mark around the league though, isn’t it? Isaiah Hartenstein of the Thunder looked impressive, and Daniel Theis always brings a strong presence for New Orleans.
And then ther’s Tristan da Silva,the German-Brazilian rookie,making waves in Orlando. Is this a new golden era for German basketball?
Mark: Absolutely.
We’re seeing a real surge in talent from Germany, and it’s exciting to witness! Hartenstein’s versatility and basketball IQ are invaluable assets to the Thunder, especially with their fast-paced playing style. Theis has always been a reliable role player, providing a solid inside presence.
As for da Silva, he’s a player with immense potential. It’s early days, but he’s not shying away from the spotlight. His combination of athleticism and shooting touch could make him a real force in the league for years to come. I’m impressed with his aggressiveness,his willingness to go for rebounds,and how he attacks the basket.

I know you’ve always been a big advocate for international talent in the NBA. Do you think this trend of European players finding success stateside will continue?
Mark: definitely. The NBA is becoming increasingly globalized, and that’s a beautiful thing.European players bring a unique skillset and perspective to the game.
International academies and training programs are producing top-notch players, and the NBA is recognizing and welcoming that talent.We’re seeing more European players drafted high and making an impact right away. It’s great for the league’s overall competitiveness and diversity.

Before we wrap up, I want to touch on the Los Angeles wildfires and their impact on the NBA schedule. Games have been postponed, and the Lakers, in particular, have been affected.
What’s your take on this situation?
Mark:
it’s a devastating situation, and my thoughts go out to everyone affected by the wildfires. The safety of players,fans,and personnel has to be the top priority. Postponing games is the right call. It allows for time to assess the situation, ensure the safety of everyone involved, and allow emergency responders to focus on the most critical tasks.
Sports are important, but in the face of such tragedy, everything else takes a back seat.
