since arriving in Los Angeles on Thursday, Victor Wembanyama and his teammates have already faced disruptions, including relocating to a hotel 50 kilometers away from the active fire zones. However, the team is choosing to focus on the larger situation affecting the community.
“It feels almost trivial to consider our schedule changes in light of what’s happening,” stated interim coach Mitch Johnson.”Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Los Angeles. The players have shown remarkable maturity in understanding the gravity of the situation.”

Chris Paul revealed that his wife and children evacuated their home on tuesday. The entire team is rallying around him during this challenging time.
“Several players had visited Chris’s home and spent time with his family,” explained Mitch Johnson. “We’ve emphasized to everyone that family and loved ones take precedence over basketball. Hopefully, when we do play, practice can offer a sense of normalcy and respite from the current circumstances.”
