The Cantalupa Sports Palace recently hosted a major regional archery competition, drawing 325 athletes from 43 Piedmontese clubs. Among them were members of the G.A.M. archery club, who competed in both the compound and Olympic divisions.
The Olympic division proved particularly fruitful for the G.A.M. archers. Gregorio Di Pasqua secured a silver medal in the Allievi category, setting a new personal best in the process. Noemi Scandone achieved a remarkable feat,claiming both the top spot and a bronze medal in the Ragazze division. Francesco Gallesio, demonstrating consistent enhancement, narrowly missed the podium, finishing a commendable fourth.
Team success also graced the G.A.M. archers. The Allievi team of Di Pasqua, Mario Bressano, and Vittorio Ramondetti clinched the gold medal. Simultaneously occurring, the female team comprising Sveva Salvagno, Martina Dotta, and Grazia maria De Carlo secured a well-deserved silver medal.

Laura: Absolutely inspiring! It’s heartwarming to see such dedication and talent emerging from Piedmontese clubs. Noemi’s double podium finish is especially noteworthy; that takes exceptional focus and resilience.
Moderator: I couldn’t agree more. And speaking of resilience, Francesco Gallesio’s fourth-place finish after narrowly missing the podium certainly showcases that quality.What advice would you give to archers like Francesco who are on the cusp of breakthrough success?
Laura: Fourth place is no small feat! It’s a testament to francesco’s hard work and determination. My advice would be to focus on the process, not just the outcome. Analyze what went well, identify areas for advancement, and keep that fire burning. Consistency and learning from each experience are key to reaching that podium.
Moderator: You also mentioned the importance of teamwork,which was evident in the G.A.M. team medals. The Allievi and female teams took home gold and silver respectively. How crucial is teamwork in the often-individualistic sport of archery?
Laura: Team archery is a completely different beast, and it requires a unique blend of individual skill and unwavering support for your teammates. It teaches young archers how to work cohesively, strategize together, and celebrate each other’s successes.
