Danish Badminton Stars Vie for Prestigious “Player of the Year” Title
The VICTOR Danish Open (DM) is not only a thrilling badminton tournament but also the stage for crowning Denmark’s top badminton player of the year. Badminton Danmark and TV 2 SPORT are calling on fans to help choose the recipient of this coveted title for 2024.
As a special incentive, fans who cast their vote will be entered into a draw to win two tickets to the 2025 VICTOR DM.
2024 was a year of remarkable achievements for Danish badminton, with several athletes reaching new heights. After careful consideration, Badminton Danmark’s sporting leadership has narrowed down the field to three exceptional nominees:
Viktor Axelsen: Axelsen’s dominance continued in 2024, securing Olympic gold, the Malaysia Masters title, the Hong Kong Open title, and a bronze medal at the European Championships.
Anders Antonsen: Antonsen showcased his prowess by winning the Malaysia Open, Denmark open, China Masters, and Indonesia Masters. He also claimed the European Championship title and secured runner-up positions at both the Indonesia Open and the World Tour Finals.
Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup: This dynamic duo dominated the doubles scene, winning the World Tour finals and the European Championship. They also triumphed at the Malaysia Masters and Canada Open, while securing runner-up positions at the Denmark Open, Indonesia Masters, and Arctic Open.

player Vote: Badminton Danmark’s player groups will also hold a vote, with the candidate receiving the most votes earning one vote.
Journalist Vote: Badminton experts will cast their votes, with the candidate receiving the most votes earning one vote.
* Expert Panels: Team Danmark,DIF,the head coach,and TV 2 SPORT will each submit one vote.
