A Triumph of Teamwork: Metz Judo Hosts Accomplished Junior Competitions
Metz Judo extends its heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated volunteers who made the recent junior and junior judo competitions a resounding success. Held on January 11th and 12th at the Saint-Symphorien Complex, the event garnered praise from the Moselle Judo Committee for its exceptional organization.
This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the tireless efforts of our volunteers. Their commitment was evident in every aspect of the competition, from setting up the notable 700 square meter judo mat to serving refreshments and ensuring the smooth running of the event.
To illustrate the scale of their contribution, consider these figures: over 500 hot beverages were enjoyed, alongside 370 cold drinks and bottles of water. A staggering 50 kilograms of fries were devoured, accompanied by 250 sandwiches and hot dogs. Sweet treats were also a hit, with 300 pancakes and waffles disappearing quickly, along with 60 croissants.
The volunteers went above and beyond, preparing and serving 110 hot meals to referees and officials. Their roles were diverse and essential, encompassing everything from grocery shopping and pancake preparation to setting up and dismantling the venue, managing the refreshment bar, and ensuring the referees were well-fed. They even tackled unexpected challenges, like emergency trips for extra chips or sugar.
Metz Judo is deeply grateful to the Moselle Judo Committee for entrusting us with the organization of this notable event. We also extend our thanks to the Metz Town Hall for generously providing the Saint-Symphorien Complex free of charge, and to the complex staff for their helpfulness and efficiency in addressing any logistical issues. we appreciate the support of Villaupré grocery store, who kindly supplied us with soft drinks.
