AC Milan’s pursuit of Manchester United star Marcus Rashford appears to be hitting roadblocks, prompting the Italian giants to explore alternative attacking options.
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan had anticipated a more decisive response from Rashford’s representatives, but progress has been slow despite their presence at Old Trafford during United’s recent victory over Southampton. The complexity of the deal is now raising concerns for the Rossoneri.
As a result, Milan is turning its attention to Chelsea’s Joao Felix. The Portuguese forward has struggled to find consistent playing time at Stamford Bridge, leading Chelsea to consider a potential departure. While a permanent transfer is their preferred outcome, Chelsea may be open to a loan deal as the transfer window progresses. This presents an opportunity for Milan, who would aim to include an option to buy in any loan agreement.
Felix’s salary demands are more manageable for Milan compared to Rashford’s. Notably, Chelsea’s forward is highly regarded by Sergio Conceicao, making him a top target for Milan should Rashford’s move fall through.
Is Joao Felix the Right Fit for AC Milan?
A Transfer Window Talking Point with Former Serie A Striker, Filippo Inzaghi
Welcome back, fans! Another transfer window, another whirlwind of rumors and potential mega deals.Today, we’re diving deep into AC Milan’s pursuit of attacking firepower and whether Joao Felix could be the answer too their prayers if the Marcus Rashford deal falls through.
Joining us today is legendary former AC Milan and Juventus striker, Filippo Inzaghi, who knows a thing or two about what it takes to be a success in Serie A.
Filippo, welcome! Thanks for joining us.
Filippo Inzaghi: it’s a pleasure to be here.
Our primary focus today is on Milan’s seemingly elaborate pursuit of Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford. Reports suggest it’s hitting roadblocks. What are your initial thoughts on that situation?
Filippo Inzaghi: Rashford is a fantastic talent, no doubt. Pace, power, fantastic finishing ability. He would be a huge asset for any team, especially Milan. However, I can see why it might be complicated.
United are unlikely to let him go easily, and his wages could be a challenge.
Exactly! We’ve seen reports of Milan now shifting their focus to Chelsea’s Joao Felix,a player with a lot of potential but perhaps not the same explosive impact as Rashford. What are your thoughts on Felix’s potential fit at the San Siro?
Filippo Inzaghi: Felix is a good player, technical, smart, with a good eye for goal. He hasn’t quite found his feet at chelsea, but this could be a fresh start for him, and Milan could be the perfect environment.
You mentioned he’s more technically gifted, perhaps a player who relies more on craft than raw pace. Do you think that would be a good fit for the style Milan play under Pioli?
Filippo inzaghi: I think so. Pioli likes his teams to play possession-based football, build-up play, with a lot of creativity in the final third. Felix’s skillset could be a perfect match for that, especially if they can get him to rediscover his best form.
Now, I know you were known for your clinical finishing and lethal scoring instincts throughout your career. Have you seen enough of Felix to believe he can consistently deliver goals in Serie A?
Filippo Inzaghi: Look, goalscoring is an art, and some players just have that instinct. Felix has shown glimpses of it,but consistency is key. He needs to believe in himself, be given opportunities, and I think with the right support system at Milan, he could blossom.
It’s an intriguing proposition, and I agree, the loan with an option-to-buy makes it less risky for Milan. What would be the biggest factor in determining felix’s success at milan,in your opinion?
Filippo Inzaghi: Confidence, without a doubt. He needs to feel backed by the manager, trusted by his teammates, and loved by the fans. if he can settle in quickly and feel truly pleasant, then his true potential could be unleashed at the San Siro.
Thanks for those insightful thoughts, Filippo. This is definitely a situation worth watching closely as the transfer window unfolds.
Now, let’s hear from our fans. What are your thoughts on Joao Felix perhaps joining AC Milan? Would he be a good fit? Would you prefer to wait and see if the Rashford deal comes through?
