Manisa to Host Europe’s Premier Youth Basketball Event in April
ANKARA (AA) – The youth Basketball Champions League, Europe’s most elite club competition for under-18 teams, is set to take place in Manisa from April 22 to 27, 2025. This marks the third edition of the tournament, which has quickly become a cornerstone for young basketball talent across the continent.
According to the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF), the event will be held at the state-of-the-art Tarık Almış Sports Hall in Manisa. The venue,known for its modern facilities,is expected to provide an extraordinary experience for both players and spectators.
This year’s tournament will feature 12 teams from 8 different countries, showcasing a diverse mix of talent. Representing Turkey will be Aliağa Petkimspor, TOFAŞ, Galatasaray, and Manisa Basket. They will face off against international powerhouses such as Igokea m:tel (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Rytas Vilnius (Lithuania), ERA Nymburk (Czechia), Filou Oostende (belgium), Spartak Office Shoes (Serbia), Porsche BBA Ludwigsburg (Germany), Pallacanestro Reggiana (Italy), and Telekom Baskets Bonn (Germany).
Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “Hosting the Youth Basketball Champions League is a testament to Manisa’s commitment to fostering youth sports. We are thrilled to welcome thes 12 talented teams and are dedicated to ensuring this event elevates Manisa’s global reputation as a sports hub.”
Patrick Comninos, CEO of the basketball Champions League, praised the Turkish Basketball Federation for its dedication to youth progress. “The TBF’s passion and organizational excellence have made this event a standout in the basketball calendar. The Youth Basketball Champions League not only provides a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills but also enriches their experience through workshops and interactions with peers from across Europe,” he remarked.
Alper Yılmaz, Sports Director of the Turkish Basketball Federation, highlighted the importance of the event for Turkish basketball. “Following the success of the tournament in Bursa, we are delighted to bring it to Manisa. Our partnership with the Basketball Champions League has been instrumental in promoting youth basketball,and we are confident this collaboration will continue to flourish,benefiting young athletes and the sport as a whole,” he said.

- Encouraging Participation: A key role of a moderator is to open engaging discussions and encourage audience participation. This involves asking thought-provoking questions, highlighting key topics, and creating a welcoming atmosphere where members feel agreeable sharing their views [3].
- Rule Enforcement: Ensuring that community rules are followed is paramount.I am adept at identifying and addressing violations, whether they involve inappropriate language, spam, or off-topic discussions, while maintaining transparency and fairness.
- Continuous Improvement: I believe in staying updated with best practices in moderation and community management. This includes learning from past experiences, seeking feedback, and refining strategies to better serve the community.
